About

I work on machine learning for imperfect-information games.

My research mainly focuses on representation learning and preference learning, with more recent advances into reasoning models. I use Reconnaissance Blind Chess, Dominion, and Magic: The Gathering as testbeds, since these force decisions under uncertainty that scale well beyond what search alone can handle.

I completed my PhD at JKU Linz in November 2024 under Johannes Fürnkranz, and stayed on as Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Machine Learning, where I teach Python programming, machine learning, and hands-on AI. Outside of research I play competitive Magic: The Gathering. Refer to my publications for more information.
